This cozy cove sits in a bend on the road to Neorio, at the foot of a pine woods less than 100 meters from the celebrated Villa Galini, favorite retreat of luminaries like the actress Greta Garbo, the painter Marc Chagall, and writers Henry Miller, James Merrill, and the Greek Nobel laureate George Seferis. This tiny beach is steeped in the tranquility that inspired the villa’s name. This small stretch of sand is popular among bathers who like to enjoy the sea and sun with minimal disturbance. Mikro Neoreio offers a view of Poros Town which is especially lovely in late afternoon as the sun’s rays illuminate the headland from an angle. The beach has sunbeds and umbrellas for rent, and there is a small refreshment stand.
Getting there: Mikro Neorio is a 20-minute walk from Poros Town. There is regular bus service on the Neorio-Rossiko line. It can be reached by taxi or private car.
