Just like the constellation it’s named after, Orion Bar is known in Poros and its environs as the most happening bar around.
Orion is located in Pounta, the old harbor known for the taverna and bars that comprise its lively nightlife.
Popular among younger locals, it slowly transforms as the action graduates from laid-back drinks at the open-air bar facing the seafront walk to the indoor dance floor.
From cocktails to shots, the bar staff puts up the drinks as fast as the DJ cranks up the music: mostly popular Greek club songs with the occasional international dance hit thrown into the mix.
Orion’s enduring popularity—the bar has been going strong for a decade—is largely due to owner Kostas and the bar staff who know how to read their customers’ mood. They set the tone with their own kefi, Greek for spirited fun, and the night unfolds from there—usually with handfuls of paper napkins being tossed in the air as clubbers take their turns on the dance floor.
In winter, Orion is only open on Friday and Saturday nights as well as on all official holidays.
